After Prague, Karlstejn Castle is the next most popular destination in the Czech Republic with over a quarter of a million tourists. Unfortunately this has led to every other house in the village being involved in the tourist industry and an explosion of kiosks. When you first glance the castle it has an almost Walt Disney look about it.

Yes, this certainly is an impressive looking castle. And I like your photo caption "The crooked mile" for the walk to the castle past all the tourist shops.

The castle looks as if taken from a fairy-tale. We're planning to visit a couple of places in Czech Republic in summer, so perhaps Karlstejn will be one of them.

Fabulous castle! I suppose the walk all the way up could be a little tiring.
