    • Favorite Thing: The Eagles Nest is now a restaurant but was a main reception room when the house was built. The fireplace in the background is made from red Italian marble and was gift from Mussolini. The was also a large rug which was a gift from the Japanese Ambassador. At the end of the war boths these gifts suffered the fate of souvenirs hunters.

    • Favorite Thing: The Hotel Zum Turken was next to the Berghof, which was Hitler's home at Obersalzberg. The hotel was used as accommodation by the SS who guarded Hitler. Under the hotel was a series of tunnels and bunkers. The tunnels can be assessed at the rear of the hotel for a small fee.

     Nice to see your visit thanks - we visited a few yrs ago but the weather was bad the trips werent going - only got as far as the excellent museum inside the mountain.
