I found the town of Bernau by accident. I was looking for a location out of town when I went to the local tourist information office for information and was given a leaflet on the town and came back for a return visit.

Bernau was one of the first towns I visited in East Germany after the opening of the wall. I was sent there to do a seminar for teachers of Business English. So maybe that nice woman who helped you at the tourist office was taught by one of "my" teachers.
