The "must visit" place of Jalisco

Teuchitlan is a small town with natural beautiful surroundings, a lake, archaeological site and a nearby volcano. Around the town you can find a small lake with nice restaurants, and the hidden treasure of Jalisco: the archaeological site of Guachimontones.

The place is located around a 50 min. drive from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

The archaeological site of Guachimontones

Guachimontones is an archeological site, locate in the town: teuchitlan

These concentric circular pyramids are unique in the world!

Excavations of these started in 1996 and first opened to general public in 2003. So be aware that the place is rather small compared with most archaeological sites in México, excavations are still in progress.

Some changes were made in the last year, so if you visited the place before be aware that about a year ago you still can drive to the site, but not anymore, the only cars allowed up to the site are those with disabled permits, so be prepare for some hiking up to the site. But the good news are that there's a new parking lot, restrooms and a museum at the skirts of the hill were the archeological site is located.

Entrance fee is $30pesos
The entrance fee include entrance to the archaelogical site, museum (small museum) and clean restrooms ;)
