OK despite all my warnings below I loved Cairo- its dusty streets, the markets. There IS such a magical quality I can't think of words. If you manage to avoid the people out there trying to con money out of you you'll have agreat time. My husband likes package holidays - YUCK!!

When a tour guide takes you to the pyramids they charge you to go into EACH one, they pay off the guards to let you take... more travel advice

Oh my God I just remembered we came to Cairo by bus from Sharm el Sheikh that journey was about 10 hours long!!! More... more travel advice

Totally agree with the tour-guides dragging you to their shops - ended up in a jewellry store too! Was a nice one, but I hadn't asked for it! Guess that's how they make their money! Greetings from LA, Eve
