The wineries of Kelowna

Do you like wine? If so, this is the place for you!!
Did you know that some of the world's best white wine and especially ice wines come from British Columbia? You can do wine tours to your heart's content while enjoying the lovely scenery and basking in the hot summer days along the pleasant sandy beaches of Lake Okanagan in interior British Columbia.
Cities and towns such as Kelowna, Summerland, Peachland, and Penticton offer a wide variety of interesting amenties and activities.

Wine instead of fruit

Grapes and vineyards?? Not fruit in B.C.?? Yes!!
When the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) was put into place, many fruit orchards (peaches, apricots, cherries, apples) were tranformed into vineyards, and in the past 15 years a number of excellent wineries have been established. Rows and rows of grapes such as these can be seen on the mountain sides of the Okanagan.
And yes - there are still many fruit orchards in the region. A summertime highlight is to bite into a peach from one of the roadside fruit stands - a juicy peach bursting with freshness and flavour - the taste of the sun soaked Okanagan!!

For a good time. . . .

Many of the wineries in the area come complete with wine tasting tours, gift shops, and restaurants. This view is of the patio cafe at Mission Hill, where a delicious lunch and a selection of fine wines plus the lovely view of lake and mountains makes a memorable moment. . . .or many memorable moments - as you choose!!

I've heard great things about the wines of the Okanagan region, and Mission Hill certainly looks like the place to enjoy them! Cheers! :-)
