Like so many people, I haven't visited many sights in my hometown. We are 30 minutes from Brussels by car or train. Leuven is famous for it's gotic city hall, it's university and beer. A new railway station is being build and it looks like it will be fantastic. When you are here you have to visit one of the bars on the "Oude Markt". Leuven is very much a student city and full of live but much quiter in the summer when all the students go home. Some small businesses that depend on students even close for long periods during the summer. My tips are based on the experience of living here instead of being a tourist so they are mostly about restaurants and nightlife. update 12/4/4: Since you guys like the restaurant tips I put some more online. |
