Banff National Park

by Webboy - last update: Jul 22, 2004

Just one of many stunning views!
Banff National Park was the 3rd stop on our cross canada trip and by far the most stunning!

We originally planned on spending 4 nights in Banff but decided to hire a car and drive to Jasper and back, staying in Jasper, before returning for one more night in Banff.

We had an excellent time here. Unfortunately the first day was miserable and wet, but we still managed to visit Lake Louise and Morraine Lake. We didn't get the full view because of the overhanging clouds, but it was still worth the visit!

We decided to use the Upper Hot Springs in Banff that night. What a great feeling to be relaxing in very warm water while rain clouds hang right above you.....bliss! ha ha ha!
Emma at Peyto Lake
Days 2 and 3 driving were spent driving to and from Jasper. They weather had cleared up giving us beautiful clear blue skys for most of the day...and what a difference it made!

Spent most of days 2 and 3 visiting the likes of Johnston Canyon, Peyto Lake and Bow Lake, as well as places such as the Athabasca Glacier ..... which i talk about more in my Jasper National Park pages.

Banff town is a busy but lovely little town with plenty to see and do. There are plenty of places to stay, plenty of shops to visit and plenty of places to eat and drink.
Elk on the Bow Valley Parkway
Banff, in my opinion, was the best part of our cross Canada trip. Having not travelled to much yet, it is the most stunning place i have ever seen..... and i would be interested to see a place that beats it!

I hope you have as much fun and interest reading my tips as i had writing them (and researching them while in Banff!).

I would honestly go back tomorrow if i could afford it! ha ha ha!

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for taking the time to create this page. We will be in Banff Sept. 2005 and are doing as much research as possible for fear of missing something.

Hi Brian! Looks like you had a fantastic time in Banff. I love your pages and pictures...stunning! Too bad about Moraine Lake...it's my favorite lake in the Rockies, hopefully you'll get the chance to go back again some day! Great coverage!
