Vancouver was a wonderful sight to see - not just because it is an awesome city, but because it was the final destination on our 2 week cross Canada Honeymoon - man we were tired by this point!
Having already been to Hamilton, Toronto, Calgary, Banff and Jasper all in just 10 days, we were looking forward to "taking it easy" in Vancouver!
We travelled to Vancouver on a 12hr Greyhound Coach from Banff, so were delighted when the room in our hotel was one of the best we had booked!
We arrived on the Wednesday night and left on a flight home to Scotland on the Sunday afternoon.
I guess we didn't visit to many sites, but we did fill most days quit easily - Whale watching on the Thursday, Bus Tour on the Friday (Always got to do the tacky bus tours! ha ha ha!) and Granville Island, then walked around Stanley park on the Saturday.
All of which were excellent - we didn't think anything would top seeing the Black bears (in terms of the wildlife) that we saw in Banff, but we were wrong ..... Orcas win by a mile!
Being our final location, we did a lot of relaxing i.e. lovely meals, late night drinks, swimming and hot tubs etc - all very nice!
Then on the last night, we sat in a bar and did nothing but talk about how great an experience we had just had and how much we had seen and done in just 2 weeks.
You can see from the picture opposite that the last night was a long night!!! ha ha ha!!! Much alcohol was consumed celebrating our trip and our wedding!
- Pros:Lots to do and easy to get around.
- Cons:Very busy - but bearable
- In a nutshell:Big, Busy, Beautiful!

I worked at Vancouver Whale Watch 2 summers ago (as the girl in the kiosk on the wharf), but was able to go out on a few trips myself. So glad you were able to see the orcas! Congrats on your honeymoon and that you survived a whirlwind tour of Canada!! ;)
