Waikiki Aquarium

The Waikiki Aquarium was founded in 1904 and is the third oldest public aquarium in the United States. It is situated next to a living reef on the Waikiki shoreline, and locals and visitors alike marvel at this underwater world.

It is home to 2,500 animals representing 429 species, and the Aquarium is proud of its reputation of excellence in coral reef exhibitry.

There is an attraction called "Hunters on the Reef" a 35,000 gallon exhibit which houses Hawaiian sharks and jacks. There is also an "Hawaiian Monk Seal Habitat" that houses endangered species found only in the Hawaiian Island and is protected by federal law.

This is a lovely attraction for children and adults alike, and is well worth a visit.
You could combine the two, the zoo and aquarium in the one day

Honolulu Zoo

This is a small but lovely little zoo. Really well laid out and interesting features too.

The prices are very reasonable too, and they have family programs, pick up a brochure before you go and you can decide which adventure you want to do, or just do the ordinary zoo visit.
