"Waikiki" Waikiki by joanj

Most people looking on a page on Waikiki would expect a beach scene, so here I thought I would be a little different.

We came upon this rescue tender after our walk along the road by the beach (Kalakaua Avenue). Luckily there was no rescue, but a false alarm.

In my country the Fire/Rescue tenders are painted "Fire Engine Red" seriously that is a shade of paint colour over here.

I will of course be adding more pictures to this page when time permits, and they will include beach scenes too !!

water feature

Along Kalakaua Avenue (the road beside the beach in Waikiki) you can see a few pretty waterfalls like this one.

They are a welcome relief from just a plain pavement, and add a lot of interest to the area.

Along the same Avenue as the picture above, here is a small water feature with a dolphin and surfer with surfboard. This section of water features is between the pavement and the beach. There are also small drinking fountains along the path, and grassy areas to sit and take in the view of the ocean, and to "People" watch.
