Hyatt on Capitol Square: Great Location in Columbus

While staying for two nights in Columbus, Ohio, I decided to stay right downtown for the convenience and so that we could walk everywhere. It was an excellent decision.

The Hyatt on Capitol Square was the perfect choice. It's located connected to the Columbus City Center Mall, adjacent to the famous Ohio Theatre and less than a block from the Statehouse and Capitol Square. It's also within walking distance of German Village and The Old Deaf School Topiary Garden.

It has a wonderful Plaza Restaurant where we ate two breakfasts and one dinner. There's also Darby's Sports Bar which also serves food. In warm weather, the seasonal Darby's Outdoor Cafe is open where you are able to eat light meals al fresco around the fountain and statue.

We used the Valet Parking, storing our car for two nights. I chose the "Senior Citizen Business Plan" because it includes breakfast, wireless internet, and the "Grand Bed". A bonus that we did not expect was Business clients are on the 18-20th floors with private elevator services. The floors were so quiet, and the room was spectacular.

Unique Qualities: Our room had a separate work area, large screen TV, three telephones, in-room safe, miscellaneous toiletries, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, Cable'satellite TV channels, AM/FM clock radio, morning newspaper, and video checkout.

The service at the Hyatt was outstanding, especially James who brought up our luggage and answered all our "silly" questions.
