  • For two nights, we stayed in the heart of the beautiful medieval town of Asolo at the Hotel Duse. With its 14 rooms, lovely little breakfast room, and small reception, it feels more like a bed and breakfast.

The rooms are not large, but comfortable. Each room is attractively decorated, creating a charming atmosphere. Simplicity is the keyword: Framed prints over the beds which have pretty ribbons tied in a bow to accent the frame; window fabrics match the bedspread and the shades of the lamps. The room and bathroom are spotlessly clean, and it is air conditioned, has satellite TV, direct-dial phones, and a mini bar.

There was no hair dryer. There is a small round table with two chairs as well as a shelf for personal belongings and a built-in closet.

Although there is no restaurant, Asolo has plenty of good places to eat, just steps from Hotel Duse.

The hotel takes its name from the great actress, Eleonora Duse, who purchased a home in Asolo and is buried here.

For those who need a comfortable, relaxing environment,Hotel Duse provides a comfortable, hospitable stay.

Unique Qualities: I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere which this intimate hotel provides.

Its location is certainly convenient because it is close to the most elegant shops, cafes, and restaurants.

You are right-the Italy pictures and comments are well worth the visits. We got as far as Treviso last fall, but further north, had no time. Lovely pics and color.

2,200 steps is really something LOL! Your very positive, even then things go wrong. Looks like a darling little spot; one that I, too, would enjoy.

Quaint little spot with good food, beautiful scenery, fine architecture, and no crowds; what more could one want?
