Restaurant Name: Ristorante Aqua Pazza
Just received this: MayDay1951 Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:33 CDT Aqua Pazza no longer serves the best pizza in Venice -- or ANY pizza for that matter! However, the food they do serve is good, albeit a little overpriced. Rosteria da Fanz, in the Castello, is MUCH better!!!Ristorante Aqua Pazza (literally, "crazy water") is located on Campo San Angelo and provides a terrific setting. It is mid way between the Rialto, Accademia, and St. Mark's Square.
The owner, who is always there and greets and communicates with his customers, is from Naples. That explains why the pizza is so good. He says his cusine is a mixture of Amalfi/Naples...a delightful mixture, indeed.
Although it is the best pizza in Italy, it might also be the most expensive. (But worth it) The Insalata Mista (Mixed Salad) is also one of the best that we ate in Venice.
Furthermore, after dinner, you are treated to the after dinner liqueur, Limonella.
Tuesday-Sunday 12:00-15:00 19:00-23:00 Closed on Mondays
Favorite Dish: Favorite dish is Quatro Formaggio Pizza (Four Cheese Pizza). The Wood Burning Oven creates the best pizza, and the four cheeses add up to a pizza with "kick".
It's quite a large pizza. Unless you are very hungry, you could share it easily.
We liked it so much that we ate there twice in the four day stay.

Vecchio Ristorante: Our Least Favorite, Most Expensive Meal in Venice

Restaurant Name: Vecchio Ristorante
At our hotel they recommended to go to Vecchio Ristorante for the best seafood. Naturally, we took their advice. It was a mistake.
First of all, it turned out to be our most expensive meal...all meals are expensive in Venice, so when I say expensive, I mean expensive.
Also, we did not enjoy the food at all. In addition, the attitude was not as friendly as all the other places we ate.
It's the only time I've disliked food at a Ristorante in Italy for all three vacations there.
Avoid the local dish of sardines like the Plague! Mediocre salad.
Favorite Dish: We had no favorite dish here. I cannot advise others to eat here because of the mediocre to bad food, the expense, and the "surly" attitude.
