A good place in Panyu

Lotus Hill Resort.

It is a good place in Guangzhou. Once I had a weekend party with my friends there. After "SARS", I think that nature is very important to a person. Lotus Hill Resort is surrounded with water, trees, flowers...... most of all, lotus flowers! We had a good time there.

The Holy Ground of the Goddess in the Resort is dignified, magnificent and great in scale. The Guanyin statue of Viewing the Sea Goddess of Mercy is 40.88 meters high, somebody told me that it is the biggest gold-leaf coated bronze statue in the world. On the hilltop there is a Lotus Pagoda built during the Wanli Times of the Ming Dynasty and a relic of the Lotus Wall built during Kangxi Times of Qing Dynasty.

And there is an annual Lotus Festival from June to August, in which thousands of vats of nearly one hundred varieties of lotus are displayed. This grand occasion is one of the big traditional tourist festivals of Guangzhou. I think you will like it there if you visit!
