Edmonton- The City That Thinks It's A Rural Town

All Alone

When I first got on the plane to Edmonton I was both upset and concerned. Not only was it my first time on a plane in a few years, but I was all alone for several sets of seats in front, behind, and beside me, but also I was in a window seat right next to the wing. Everytime it wobbled even slightly I'd watch the wing closely. It wasn't the plane that scared me so much, it was spending two months with a sister I hadn't even seen in the past 8 months and her husband. I was overjoyed at the idea of seeing my nephew, but I was leaving behind a full summer of partys and all of my friends. The plane ride seemed horribly long, and I was bored to tears. Then I arrived at the airport finally! It was all open and very nice, I was able to meet my sister and her family right where I picked up my luggage, so I could make my brother in law carry it all. We toured around in the truck for a little bit and I started to notice, Edmonton was a lot like the small town i had left behind, in fact, it was like a futuristic view of it. As my stay lengthened I noticed that they had very similar everything, and I realised that this stay wasn't going to seem so long after all.

Pros:"beautiful natural setting, almost no smog, plenty of indie stores and cultural diversity"
Cons:"bad drivers throughout, roads are confusing, many people are against Ontario (especially Toronto) citizens"
In A Nutshell:"Edmonton is a beautiful place with friendly people and shopping to suit all tastes, the cultural diversity is not as high as in most cities, but there are lifestyles of almost every culture lived there."
