Beautiful Argentina

The eighth largest country in the world springs to life in the northern subtropical forests, only to disappear among the ice and endless winds of the Antarctic . Between these two extremes Argentina unfolds.

You hear plenty of talk about gauchos and the tango when you mention Argentina, but it's the country's natural wonders that are the primary attraction. They range from the northern deserts to the southern Andean cordillera .

Argentina's climate and geography vary considerably, ranging from the heat of the Chaco, through the pleasant climate of the central Pampas to the sub-Antarctic cold of the Patagonian Sea.
In the southwest it s like a small 'Switzerland' with a string of beautiful icy lakes .

So while in Argentina, do listen to the roaring waters of the Iguazú Falls, visit the endless Patagonia,
taste chocolates in Bariloche, practice ski in the Andes in Mendoza, enjoy dancing tango in Buenos Aires, and much more ...

Hiking enthusiasts travel to remote Glacier National Park, and the pristine Fitz Roy region. Long day hikes through glacial lakes, impressive peaks and rushing
streams and waterfalls also offer excellent photo opportunities.

Argentina is the third largest country in South America, and with an equally vast variety of regions to explore. The capital of Buenos Aires is often referred to as the "Paris of South America" for its accent on fashion, the beauty of its many parks, and the cultural slant of its residents.

In the northern reaches of the country is Iguazu Falls--considered the widest waterfall in the world with endless cataracts and vistas.

The natural history of Argentina is equally impressive. The Valdez Peninsula offers everything from penguin, elephant seal & sea lion colonies to whale encounters, plus excellent bird and animal viewing. From Ushuaia you can cruise the Beagle channel to observe penguins and sea lions, and hike in Tierra del Fuego National Park looking for the Magellanic woodpecker--the largest in South America.

El Calafate is famous for the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the word's few "advancing" glaciers--your chances of seeing chunks of ice falling into the lake are just about guaranteed!

Argentina in Latin means “country of silver,” so named for the natives that brought silver objects to Spanish explorers who landed on their shores. This name is also reflected in Argentina’s Rio de la Plata, meaning the river of silver, one of Latin America’s largest rivers. Now the treasures are in the land and the rivers of this country full of landscapes of incomparable beauty developing the tourist market.

The territory of Argentina is so wide that, considering only the emerged portion of the American continent -almost 2.800.000 sq km , it occupies the eighth place in the world, being only overcome by Russia, Canada, China, United States, Brazil, Australia and India. In spite of its great territorial extension, Argentina presents one of the lowest demographic densities of the world , with most of its population inhabiting the conglomerate of Buenos Aires , the country's capital , with almost 29 million people . However the geographical situation of the country is very peculiar: Argentina is an enormous country, where the climate and geography vary considerably , stretching from hot rainforest in the North to frozen wastes in the South .
