In Purmamarca you ll find the amazingly breathtaking "cerro de los siete colores" (the mountain of seven colours).

The Pucara de Tilcara is 900 years old and stretches for about 8 hectareas on a hill, 80 metres away from the "Grande" (big) river.

The Tilcara indigenous people built the magnificent pucara (it means "fortress" in quechua -aboriginal- language).

Near the Pucara there s the Jardin Botanico de Altura where people can see the typical flaura (cactus mainly ) and fauna (llamas and vicunias) of the region.

This place is out of this world, think that "sudamerica" was like this before the europeans came.

this Cardones are huge cactuses, and their wood is used to build houses.
