Zona Cafetero

Quindio is one of 3 small departments that make up the Zona Cafetero. A lush area where nearly everything will grow. In a landscape dotted by traditional Antioquian archatecture agriculture flurishes. At low altitudes Plantains, Yuca, Citrus fruits, Strawberries and of course the World Famous Colombian Coffee are harvested.

The Wax Palms

At Higher Altitudes, near the Nevados National Park in the Valle fo Cocora the worlds only high altitude Palm grows. Also the worlds talest palm the Wax palms tower even above the Andies, pushing up as high as 50 and 60 meters. Awe inspiring these trees, that only grow here are a must se for any trip to Colombia

I have seen photos of those palm trees, but didn't know quite where they were. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
