Uganda is quite an unknown country for most of the tourists as when most of us plan a first experience in "black" africa think about more touristically developped countries such as Kenya or Tanzania. Sure Uganda has not the huge amount of wild animals that neighbour countries have (although you will probably see more than expected) but instead of this you will find the real africa, quite untouched by tourism. The luxurious and exclusive lodges are few and affordable, the bandas / tents are located in the heart of the national parks, people is so friendly and has interest for other things apart of your money, the level of safety is high ... so why not spend some weeks here?
In the heart of the continent and in the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda has a rich diversity of landscpes and vegetation, from the typical savnna to tropical forst and jungles and of course the mysthical Ruwenzori.... or the moon mountains!
Nevermind if neighbour countries include some conflictive areas like Congo or Sudan, Uganda is overall a pretty safe country and robberies are not as usual as in neighbour countries, here you can leave your cameras anywhere, forget them, come back and find them in the same place (well, don't try your luck doing this in kampala or othe rmain cities!)
Ugandese peop,e is really friendly and curious about your origins and... your fave football team ( they are mostly fanatic of the Premier League stuff, specially United). Ufortunately they have suffered a lot the negative influece of white men during colonization, and because of this they have quite a big inferiority complex infront of white men that the government is trying to delete from Ugandan's hearts and mind, a hard work but hopefully not in vain.
And why not, let's accept it.... who would not like to adopt an Ugandan baby after seeing so wonderful children around?
