The Finnish salty liquorice Everyone who goes to Finland have to try the salt liquorice candy. Even the lady in the store told me that I had to when she noticed that I didn't come from Finland. And the candy... I like it! |
A Swede in Helsinki For someone who speaks Swedish; Finland and especially Helsinki is really easy to visit. Even though people don't like to speak Swedish, most seems to understand it.
Since Swedish is a second language in Finland almost all signs in Helsinki is both Finnish and Swedish. But the type of Swedish used can be really fun to read for someone who really is coming from Sweden. I tried to understand the information about how to pay the ticket on the tram railway. I did understand all the words, but couldn't get the point anyway. It was first when reading the English version that I did understand everything.
And when you understand the rather complicated ticket rules, the tram is actually a very good way to see the town. |
