Travel concerns

Brickenridge, CO 1999
Angela and I, during our travels, have encountered travelers from all over the world who were concerned about traveling. Like the lady we met on a cruise, who had gotten Legionnaires in England and had to come up with over $1500 cash, no credit card, to return to the US to be treated. Or a man, whom we met during a trip around South America. The next day he was dead. He was traveling alone. We have had problems like bad water in China and bad food in Mexico. But, nothing as serious as the above. When we travel, we like to have someone at home know where we are. But, wouldn't it be great to have someone wherever you go that you know. If disasters like needing a doctor, a dentist, help with visas, or just someone to meet you at the airport, train station or bus depot this person could help. After 9/11 it got Angela and I to thinking about how this might be done. So, we started Adopt-A-Tourist to address these issues. We still are going to go to many areas where there are serious problems, but we would like to know someone there. Adopt-A-Tourist is still in its infancy. So, if you have any ideas on how we can make it work so that we will have a safer and more friendly world, please email us at: ahunter100@juno.com. We realize that it's only when people meet one on one that they will accept one another. Angela and I enjoy traveling, but most of all it's the people that make all the difficulties of traveling worthwhile.

Happy Health and Happiness
