Nightlife Spot: Other Nightclubs
CitySearch run regular polls for the best nightclubs and bars in a city. Their ratings (out of 10) are usually fairly spot on, but now and again I suspect they get hijacked by someone with a vested interest in the establishment, who somehow ups the rating to unfeasible and inaccurate proportions. However, a superb search function and editors picks makes this one of my favourite all-round sites.
Basically a review site, but with links to some amazing guest lists,
Club Planet gives the day-by-day low down on Los Angeles (and other cities) nightlife. The pick for me was the free
guest list to get entrance to one of LA's best celebrity haunts, Spider Club @
Avalon, even if it is only for a Wednesday night.
With similar info, but in a very un-user friendly style is
LA Clubber. It requires you to register for full access, although I doubt it is worth the time, effort and increased spam that will no doubt flood your way.
If you're still stuck, I suggest asking a question on
Inspiration LA. Some of the friendliest people on the net, and they pointed me in the direction of several parties whilst we were in Los Angeles.
Also, the legendary
Zagat produce a indispensable pocket guide to nightlife with guides to the best clubs and bars to suit the pocket and mindset of every hedonist on Earth. Costs about $11 if you subscribe (which I fully recommend you do anyway), and is one is the most comprehensive, easy to use guides I have ever seen.
