Kashmar

Kashmar is 926 km. far from Tehran. Sheshtaraz river, across which Shahi historical dam is constructed, flowing its vicinity. Its weather is temperate in northern areas and warm in southern and plain areas due to closeness to desert.
The old name of this city is "Torshiz" . In the year 1151 AD. it was surrounded and plundered by Sultan Sanjar Saljooghi. After that, it became one of the most important centers of Esmailieh faction. After the defeat and disappearance of Esmailieh faction, this city flourished again. But in 14th century was ruined by Amir Taymour Goorkani. The historical sites of this city are:
Atashgah cave.
Ali - Abad tower,
Firooz - Abad minaret, Atashgah castle.
Shahid Moddares tomb.
Seyed Hamzeh an Seyed Morteza Imamzadeh

    Nice page here, Omid- Loot desert looks interesting, but forbidding. Love the Saffron flowers. Nice photos.

    Ah! Omid, I hope to visit the Loot Desert one day, and see Ali Abad Keshmar tower which looks impressive; I agree that looking at the stars in clear sky brings real interior peace. I liked to dream with you Omid. The trail on the video looks nice.

    Nice tips on Kashmar (sound almost like Kashmir in India?)...and nice when you sat you can feel God when you look at the stars! Very nice pics...thanks for sharing, Norman

    Kashmar seems to have extremes, from bad worms and scorpions to the beautiful saffron flowers and wonderful mosques.
