Also well worth a visit when you are in Plzen for the urquel brewery, is the zoo.

Very un-czech, located at walking distnace from the center, an old zoo that is furiously renovating to meet western standards. No longer are the animals crammed together, no longer are the cages too small.This is an example zoo for many ! Also I shall not forget to mention, deadcheap for a zoo this size !

Beware ! this zoo is absolutely NOT suitable for people that are not well walking !!! The zoo is built up against a very steep hill, and there is no easy way to get to the top.

On top of the hill is a dino park (being built). Nice if you are in to that sort of stuff...
