So here we are. I have to apologize for the quality of the pic.. It is a picture of a picture thus the fuzzy look to it. Well Kaoru and I met in 1997. We started going out together after we both acknowledged the fact that we weren't interested in marriage. We were married three years later on June 30, 2000...........
After 41 years of single life I finally found someone to share my life. Or maybe I have that backwards. I think I'm sharing her life. Thank goodness too, because before Kaoru, my life was pretty boring...It's not now though.

In Kyoto, Kaoru became a maiko-san.

On a trip to Kyoto Kaoru dressed up as a Maiko (an apprentice Geisha). She looked so authentic that people in Gion thought she was the real thing and took pictures of her.

Here is the third member of our family. We hate to leave Tora behind when we travel, but thankfully Kaoru's mother consents to watch him while we're off discovering the world together.

Robato loves Kaoru

We had this done during a trip to Nagasaki. It is my name Robert or Robato in Japanese written in kanji. The kanji on the right is my wife's name Kaoru. If you take a good look you can see that the caligrapher used different animals for each stroke of the kanji.
