| Kokerboom-tree in Southern Namibia |
Namibia was the third country I visited during my overland trip through Southern Africa in 2006. I travelled through the country from the Caprivi-strip in the north all the way to the Fish River Canyon in the south: a trip of approximately 2000 kilometers. On my way south I saw nice towns, ate some very good food, drank the best beer of Southern Africa, spotted some fantastic wildlife, but one thing makes Namibia absolutely unique:
During the 2000 kilometers trip I never drove through the same landscape for more then 15 minutes. All the time it keeps on changing, and all the time you get to see more amazing landscapes. From green hills to rough rock desert, and from smooth sanddunes to spectacular cliffs. |
