Before I went to Athens I knew it was going to be a very cool trip. But I never expected it to be such a beautiful city. There is so much more to see then only the Acropolis. Ancient culture is almost on every corner of the street.

Together with the romantic Plaka, the sparkling shopping streets, the peaceful mountains Lykavittos and Areos Pagos, the modern Olympic complexes and the wonderful people that are just as warm as the weather, Athens is a city that has it all.

Athens is one big explosion of beautiful ancient culture. Weither you like architecture, fine arts, photographing or just daydreaming; Athens has more then enough places to give you a great time.

Athens is a city of extremes, that´s for sure. Athens can be an enormously touristic place, but at the same time it can be quiet too. Some of my favorite crowded places in Athens:

- (Of course) the Acropolis
- Odos Ermou
- Monastiraki Square
- AEK´s football stadium

And some of my favorite quiet places:

- Kerameikos
- Highest parts of Plaka
- National Gardens
- Areos Pagos
