In December 2005 and January 2006 I spend about a month in Southeast Asia. Using Sabah, Malaysia as a base I visited Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, and the Philippines. Unfortunately my time in Indonesia was limited, so I only visited the island Java. But I know that all the islands of the archipelago have their own special things to offer, so I definitely should be back here one day!

One Java I saw some enormous extremes: from the choas and shcoking poverty in the capital Jakarta to the culture and pleasant atmosphere in Yogyakarta. And from the ancient beauty of the Borobudur temple to the green environment of this part of the island where ricefields and jungle dominate the island.
