While San José in Costa Rica was planned to be the ending point of my trip through Central America, I couldn't resist taking the opportunity to visit Panama for a couple of days. Especially when you are visiting the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, you are really close to one of the best places in Panama.

Just across the border there is a tropical paradise that is a must-see when you are in the area: Bocas del Toro. This is a group of islands of which Isla Colón is the most visited. To keep it clear, they named the capital of this island: Bocas del Toro.

Bocas del Toro is a backpacking-destination, with cheap hostels, restaurants and good public transportation. But on the other hand you see big yachts, fancy places and people who come here only to enjoy the luxury and the sealife.

Sealife, because next to the green jungle and the white beaches, the biggest attraction on the islands are the reefs that surround them. Diving and snorkling is great here.

Interesting page. Bocas del Toro looks like a great place to relax and enjoy some bananas.
