Colourful coffee beans in Orosí

During a daytrip from San José I visited the area just to the east from the capital. In this area, hidden in the landscape of hills, the green valley of Orosí is situated. A short busride takes you to the village with the same name, in the middle of this paradise.

The area around the small village of Orosí is famous for its coffee plantations: the best in Costa Rica. All over the hills around the village you see these plants making a dark green pattern of stripes through the landscape.

During my short stay here I made a walk through the sleepy town and of course bought some of the local coffee here. And after that I made a walk through the plantations. A great environment to enjoy, have lunch in the shadow of the coffeeplants and have a look at the beans to guess when they will be ready to use.

i am so glad you made it to Orosi; not too many people go there and it is a shame. i think Orosi Valley is one of the best places to visit in CR!
