In July and August 2006 I made a trip through four Southern African countries: Botswana, Namibia, South-Africa and Zambia. From all those countries I liked Zambia the best. Only a few days there made a big impression on me. The landscape is great, even away from the Victoria Falls. The people are fantastic; nowhere else I felt as welcomed as in Zambia. People are spontaneous, warm and very enthusiastic. And the most special thing about Zambia to me was that it really made me "feel" Africa; tasting the dust of the unpaved roads, hearing the singing of African songs by the locals, smelling the bushfires that are purposely made, and seeing boys like this little one, carried on the back of a nun in Livingstone.
