| You can still grill in the rain! |
Just got back from a week+ in Italy (my first time there) and it was AMAZING! I love my job as it 'forces' me to travel. My flights back were really rocky - so I was swearing I'm not getting on a plane again for awhile - until today when I was like, hmm...London's not that far away! I think travelling is an addiction! : ) |
| | Italia Everyone kept telling me what a great time I was going to have in Italy, which I believed, but didn't really comprehend. I think it finally hit me that I had this experience. I LOVED Rome, which I never really thought was one of my top destinations, but now that's the city I really want to go back to. (Lisbon, Sydney & Rome are now my favorite foreign cities) |
some more..... We love to drink wine and try different beer. We like to go to and watch sporting events, especially football (American football that is, though I loved watching Football in Portugal!). I like visiting aquariums, zoos, art museums and science museums. Basically there isn't anything I don't like to experience. I generally find most things interesting and if not I can find something else. I think that's why travel is so appealing, its always something new and interesting.
| | I love to eat and try new food. Anything is fair game (Tafelspitz terrine on the last trip...eh, not so much!). I think one of the best parts of visiting a foreign country is the food. Even visiting a different region can yield a vastly different cuisine. I love living so close to the city because I'm able to eat so much authentic ethnic foods. I also love cooking and gardening, which for me go hand in hand. I think to truly be a great cook you need to start with the freshest ingredients so I try to grow as much of my own food as I can. What could be fresher than that? I hope to grow some grape vines at the next house and learn more about wine-making. |
books... I haven't been reading anything really great recently. Passage to India by E.M. Forster was interesting, not sure what I thought of it yet. I did get a nice Austrian Cookbook in Vienna which I made some homemade spaetzle from recently. : )
