"Spending the night before heading to Copenhagen" Frankfurt am Main by bcorbitt

Unless you are going there for Finance there did not seem like much to see in Frankfurt to write about. It sort of reminded me of Charlotte, North Carolina with lots of tall finance related buildings and no life at night. That being said the train station is very centralized and great place to travel to other place both in Germany and in neighboring countries. I was on my way to Copenhagen which is about a 9 hour train and boat trip away.

The German hertz seemed more open to one way rentals as it only cost me an additional 14 euro to drop off the car at at Hertz within Germany. There was a Hertz at the train station though hard to spot the two parking spaces they have among the shared cars on the south side of the station. I ended up parking in the paid area as two cars were already located in the Hertz spots.

Since only spending the night and was coming in late after a 9 hour train trip picked a hotel near the train station. The hotel I think was the most happening all ages place there and most of the other establishments seemed dead or were red light oriented. Had to walk very far to find a half decent health oriented Asian restaurant and sadly had to go to an American themed bar and grill for drinks after wards. Should have stayed at hotel as when came back there was 100 people hanging out outside at 1230 as last call had happened.

• Pros:large city and the hotels are not that expensive
• Cons:not much to do in center of town and not that pretty
