After over a decade of unification this once divided capital is completely merged. The only way to tell now you are walking from East to West is the traffic lights have different symbols telling you when you can walk. Potsdammer Platz is almost competely constructed with brand new buildings and few sections of the wall remains. The vast rail system that connects it all both local and through Germany make Berlin a great place to make a base. Plan to return in July of 2006 to see World Cup games.

• Pros:Relatively cheaper than I expected and great rail system
• Cons:Knowledge of Romance Languages not much help
• In a nutshell:Must see and worth more than the week I spent.
