"NSW State Aerobatic Championship 2002" a Temora Travel Page by reedee

Temora is a medium country town (pop 5900 appox) in which the NSW Aerobatic Club hold a yearly comp. With a name that is believed to be Celtic rather that Aboriginal. Late in the 19th Century there was over 20,000 diggers searching for gold, but today sheep and wheat keep the town going. During WW2 over 10,000 RAAF passed through training @ Temora. With one of the most fog free landing strips in the state.
Temora is 460km's southwest of Sydney.
This town hasn't got that much in it, but the friendly people more than make up for it.
The Labour Long Weekend is a must to drop into Temora the aerobatic comp is great!

This year was alot larger than last years comp, but our club members were strong in all of the grades, we took out 1st, 2nd (by my Chris), 3rd and 4th in the new grade called "Entry", 1st in "Graduate", 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th in "Sportsman" and 1st in "Intermediate". Everyone worked hard and well! Can't wait til next years comp....

Well we returned and once again the SAS team kicked butt!!!!!

I will load up some great aero shots within the next few days and have a few funny stories as well...like wondering around a graveyard at midnight looking for glowing graves (we had had a few drinks...)
