| Mountains - pointy one is Hornindalsrokken |
Sogn og Fjordane is one of 19 Norwegian counties, and just happens to be the one in which I grew up. As the name implies, we do have the fjords, but there's so much more. We've got mountains and glaciers and rivers and waterfalls and lakes and... if you're looking for Norway; this is it! |
VT doesn't have a page about the town I live in, Hornindal, so I'm just using this one. Hornindal is a small town in the middle of nowhere, all the way north in Sogn og Fjordane. There are 1,200 people living there, and we have a lot of mountains, woods and the deepest lake in Europe - Hornindalsvatnet. If you want to visit, come during July or August for summer weather, if you come at the right time, you'll think you took a wrong turn somewhere cuz Norway can get HOT! For winter weather, try January or February. Don't forget that heavy coat! |

evaanna Thu Jun 14, 2007 19:38 UTC I personally think it's the most beautiful of the counties I have visited in Norway. Great pictures! |
