Baldone developed as a populated ares mostly in the 1930s, but only in 1991 it received the rights of a town. Here you can see some important architectural monuments.
This place was famous with it's healing mineral waters.
The healing mineral waters of Baldone have been known since the 15ht century. But in 1796 Baldone became the site of the oldest medical treatment facility in the Baltic States. In this - 1796 - year baron fon Korff established an institution which featured mud baths. |
