ROME

by dmirebella - last update: Nov 4, 2005

Nite snap of 1 of the wonders of the ancient world
Have always wanted to go to Rome. As someone who has always admired innovation and creativity, Rome exudes the very image of 'old world glamour' - ancient architecture, religious symbolism, grandeous paintings - and thankfully, Rome did not dissapoint in any aspects.

Not to say that my visit to Rome was not without any mishaps. My first hour of arrival into Rome at 1 am was in a spate of dilemma and mishaps, I managed to get my wallet 'missing'. Be it stolen or simply my plain negligence, I have managed to get myself completely penniless without a cent to my name nor any credit cards or debit cards to my name (yes, I should have separated my cash from my plastic but I was planning to do it after! How was I to know that misfortune was to hit me that quickly??). Nevertheless, being the optimist that I am, I did not let this deter me from having a good time OR letting it spoil the rest of my holidays (let alone my mates).

Having good friends, some good sense of doing an electronic money transfer to my mates UK bank account prior to arriving in Europe and the wonders of a 24 hr AMEX card replacement eased all pain MINUS a very sore bank balance of loosing A$1000. Oh well...no pain no gain I say!!!
