  • Darling Harbour is intended to be one of Sydney's "buzz" places. Until now, Darling Harbour has been a place that has appealed more to little folk, due to the number of children's attractions, but the advent of the Cockle Wharf restaurant and cafe complex has added a new dimension to Darling Harbour.

Cockle Bay Wharf and King Street Wharf are two of the latest outdoor and indoor favourite dining and entertainment destinations, places where tourists and locals come to eat, drink, shop and generally be merry!!

    Darling Harbour: Darling Harbour Bridge
  • Tip Rating:
  • Darling Harbour is now one of the most recognised waterfront tourism destinations in Australia. It has a gorgeous view and harbour setting naturally - and within walking distance to other major attractions such as the Sydney Aquarium and the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Historic Buildings: City Recital Hall Angel Place
  • Tip Rating:
  • Now - for very obvious reasons, this is a wonderment of a building - its role is to provide a high quality venue of international standing and aims to become Australia’s Wigmore Hall, attracting the finest artists from here and around the world.

    Museums: Sydney Maritime Museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • This museum was first founded in 1965 by a group of public-spirited individuals to preserve the Sydney 1902 VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun.

Now, its a community based non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation of Australian and particularly, Sydney maritime heritage. It is funded through donations, membership subscription, vessel charges and proceeds of four art unions per year.

The Museum's 1000 strong membership is a source of dedicated volunteer workers who restore, operate and maintain the Museums' fleet of vintage vessels.

Sydney Opera House: The Opera House
  • Tip Rating:
  • Inspired by palm trees, this building can now be considered as one of the modern wonders of the world.
Do note however that during its construction in 1959, it was largely critized to be a white elephant. However, after its completion in 1973 till now and is now considered to be one of the landmark to Sydney.

  • One of the must see I reckon would be the Olympic stadium grounds (now known as Telstra Stadium).

It seats 110,000 spectators able to see the opening and closing ceremonies, track and field program and the final of the men's soccer tournament.

Guided tours are available but check before heading there. Otherwise jz walk around the grounds and be amazed.

    Sports: Sydney International Archery Park
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Archery Park adjoins Haslams Creek and wetlands and is part of the open space of Sydney Olympic Park. The building design is distinctly Australian, emulating the age-old beach umbrella or a lean-to hay shed.

Its slightly further away from the Olympic Stadium but a ride along the road will bring you there.
