Wat Arun -Temple of Dawn

Wat Arun
This is my favourite landmark of Bkk and naturally it has to be on my intro page. Wat Arun - or the Temple of the Dawn - is one of the best recognised structure around for Bkk. It is decorated by bits of porcelain.
Fooling around outside the temple

We could not resist!!

This is a must see for anyone who is in love with architecture. A nighttime riverboat cruise has this majestic place lighted all up let it be night or day, its still a site to behold.
Map from the Lonely Planet

Location

The city of Angels - Bangkok sits smack in the middle of the broad Choa Phraya River which snakes through the city providing transport for passengers and cargo.

There is actually 2 Bangkok's - the 'old' Bangkok, where a large proportion of the city's temples and palaces and its Chinese and Indian districts are found, and the 'new' Bangkok which comprises of the business, tourist and sprawling residential districts, is 'new' Bangkok.

Bangkok is currently home to 7.6 million residents
