Its not all about the Petronas Twin Towers | Where else can you find SQUARE trees! |
Ok now, yes.. I am pretty sure that Kuala Lumpur (Kay-El) has already been landmarked to be the city with the tallest twin towers, but for me.. KL is my second home.. being here for over 10 years ...
More than any other spot in the country, Kuala Lumpur, or "KL" as it is commonly known, is the focal point of new Malaysia. While the city's past is still present in the evocative British colonial buildings of the Dataran Merdeka and the midnight lamps of the Petaling Street nightmarket, that past is everywhere met with insistent reminders of KL's present and future.
The KL city landscapers also play a large part in turning it into a Garden City.. a concrete jungle, KL is not. |
| | Rather than highlight the usual stuff that Malaysian's would update on the pages, I hope to show KL in the quirky manner that `she' is..
KL - is unique.. And despite the number of negative reactions and responses that I read, KL has that special lil something that no other city has.. *yes* perhaps one can say that Malaysians can be rather of a snob - not as friendly *or clean.. or stringent* as our neighbouring countries on our Northern or Southern bounderies are, but if you dig hard enough, and if you are willing to get to the core and not stick to the straight and narrow - you will learn to appreciate KL for what it is.... |

| | Kuala Lumpur - Location Kuala Lumpur is situated midway along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers; in fact - Kuala Lumpur means 'Muddy Confluence' in Malay. Kuala Lumpur is the largest city in the Malaysia - with a population of 1.5 million.
Do note that although Islam is the official religion , Malaysia has always practiced racial and religious tolerence thus it has a diverse multicultural background.
Malaysia is one of the most pleasant - if not the most pleasant in my humble opinion of countries in Asia. It is vibrant with an intresting blend and mix fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs. |
