Taipei has been a memorable holiday for me.. and now that I am back home - I find that I miss the quiet tranquality there. It has a laid back feeling that would seduce many a visitor back.

Despite not being as hyped up as many other North Asian countries as a tourist destination, should one take the time to explore and to feel the heart beat of the country, its not hard to see why many a person would want to move and call Taipei home.
Dumplings
Ok now - as mentioned previously, one of my MAIN purpose to this trip is to tantalize my taste buds with the culinary delights thats in Taipei.. *yes* .. it has always been said that other countries have a wider variety and assortments in which to tempt even the most discerning food critic but heck.. I am not one who is fussy and it is on to the plane I came.. and as yet, I have yet to be dissapointed to say the least.

Its been food, food and GLORIOUS FOOD as yet - check out my RESTAURANT page for some samples of what I have tried....
Map from the Lonely Planet

Location

The capital of the the island of Taiwan - Taipei is located at the very top of the island; a span away from the Formosa Strait and to the Chinese mainland.

Although officially a part of China, Taiwan has been fighting for its independence and is often refered to be the rebel state.

About 6 million people live in and around Taipei.

The 101 Building is awesome, Shilin Market enticing and the changing of the guards would be amusing to watch--Taipei is certainly a city that has some exciting sights for the traveler!
