So that you can enjoy San Marco! Around 10am is ok, 11am its crowded and it will not be better later on... At night you are actually able to walk there.. Daytime is lovely, they have "live" music at the restaurant’s who at least what it felt like are "competing" - who plays the music highest? ;o) A little warning tho, your first order at these restaurants (what ever you order) includes a fee for the music as well..

Do take the time to stroll around on the bridges even tho there are bridges everywhere. We preferred the “small” bridges as they where not crowded like for example Rialto.. Pay attention to the details, around 7-7.30PM is a perfect time to explore the bridges as the light will give its on touch and the canal is quite and calm (compared to daytime). You might be lucky to see a love couple sitting in the Gondola with the gondolier whistling or humming his song. That is what you can call a beautiful moment. The picture shows the Rialto area..
