"Laisves aleja" is a pedestrian area. I think it's a true tourist trap, but you don't need to escape it, just don't spend there all your time... |
It is a part of the interior of restourant "55". It's represents a Lithuanian "moon shine" (home brewed vodka) production...and 55 actualy means the "degree" - quantity of alkohol in this original drink...if you will drink it and will be able to leave the place it's a good sign that the place it isn't a "tourist trap"... The resturant is located on "Laisves aleja" just in front of Vilniaus bankas... |

On the other side of the river you can see “Napoleon hill”. From this hill Napoleon was watching his army crossing Nemunas River. This hill located in Kaunas the best way to reach it – by a friends car, bicycle, taxi…I think the best way – take a bicycle as bicycling path (a part of it is visible on this pix) is going from the old city to Panemune district all the way very close to the river, right trough the city, but far away from usual tourist places. |
