Garden in Oland, Schleswig-Holstein
Schleswig-Holstein is the northernmost state in Germany, conveniently sandwiched between Hamburg and the Danish border.
Gottorf Castle, Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein

History everywhere . . .

Schleswig-Holstein is loaded with fascinating museums and points of interest related to Holstein's royal past--like Gottorf Castle in the town of Schleswig, built by Friedrich II.

Small town Germany

Walk the visitor-friendly streets of small town Germany, including the town of Arnis--the smallest incorporated city in the country--Schleswig, the capital of Schleswig-Holstein until 1945, and the small fishing village of Holm on the banks of the Schlei.

It's amazing to see that US visitors know small villages like Holm, which is fairly unknown to many Germans. Having been with the Navy along the coastal lines of the Baltic Sea you awakened memories on Flensburg,Denmark and all these little cozy villages.

You've got a very good view of this place. After browsing your page, visiting a "Hallig" myself I guess should be on my list for this year... BTW: Is the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo still there?
