Beaches, Beaches, Beaches

Kuaotunu Beach
This is a view of Kuaotunu Beach, not far from Matarangi. Whilst Matarangi is very developed and full of Aucklanders, just down the road Kuaotunu is still relatively undiscovered. Its on the way to Otama and Opito Bays which are long term favourites of mine and its still possible to claim your piece of sand without being crowded. This photo was taken at the high of summer - where are all the people?
Camping Kiwi Style

Camping

Its still possible to camp in out of the way places in NZ - particularly in the Coromandel.

I returned from living in London and was tired of the big city life. Wanting to get away from it all I drove around the whole of the Coromandle staying in a small tent. Whilst there are camp grounds near some of the beaches, it is also possible to stay in "out of the way places" that you might not thought possible.

I'm in love with the Coromandel. Close enough for me to see (on those days when the cloud doesn't hide it!!), so why aren't I there more weekends??? Just love it.
