Wellington is my old home town and I still enjoy visiting the place and old friends when I get a chance.

It's nick name is "Windy Wellington" and unfortunately it does get its fair share - this picture was taken one day with a strong southerly wind - straight off the Antartic !!!!!

Wellington is a nice compact city, easy to get around, with lots of things to see and do - from a myriad of cafes to a world class museum (Te Papa) theatre and awesome walks.

Te Papa is the national museum of New Zealand and was opened on 14 February 1998.
After extensive consultation with iwi (Maori tribal groups), and canvassing of political support to secure funding, a new Act of Parliament was passed in 1992 (the Museum of New Zealand Act, Te Papa Tongarewa 1992), which combined the National Museum and the National Art Gallery to form the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Te Papa was a rare and exciting challenge - the opportunity to design from scratch a place unique to New Zealand

Circa Theatre, is claimed to be one of New Zealand's liveliest and most innovative professional theatres. Circa Theatre hosts international, national and local drama, comedy and music and has helped the careers of some of New Zealand's best known actors and directors including Roger Hall.
