Getting TO/AROUND: The futuristic Skytrain is an economical, fast and efficient way of getting round Bangkok, as well as providing a kind of sightseeing tour to different parts of the city. The trains run daily between 6.00am and midnight and you never have to wait too long until one arrives. There are two lines - Sukhumvit and Silom - and between you they link a lot of the shopping and hotel areas of the city. The Silom Line also has a terminus at Saphin Taksin where you can catch the riverboat to many of the historical sights of Bangkok. Some stations also interchange with the metro. Single tickets cost between 10 and 40 baht but for an extended stay it is worth looking at the different types of passes on offer. The very informative website www.bts.co.th gives more information on all of the above P.S. I know this is a wierd picture (it's an advert on a Skytrain platform) but I took it for a friend who LOVES Elijah Wood!
