Neringa municipality

Neringa is the municipality unreachable from Lithuania via land. It is on the peninsula called Couronian spit. From one side of peninsula there is Baltic sea, at the other - couronian gulf. There are 4 small villages in the municipality, Nida, the westernmost town of Lithuania, is the largest one. Neringa is a resort area, but it is different from Palanga. Neringa is very calm, it is also however more expensive. All signs appear in Lithuanian and German - Neringa was formerly part of Memeland. All Neringa is a national park, thus camping is not allowed unless in specially designated places. There are great dunes, lush forests and wide beaches in Neringa and you can go from gulf shore to the sea shore in few minutes.
